Doing the Damn Thing

This work in progress began at an autoethnography workshop led by Dr. Aisha Durham where I began to use storytelling for building solidarity. Within 15 minutes, Pamela Glenn, Tzeporaw Sahadeo (ABD), and I presented our first performance titled "You Don't Know Me." I then wove a tapestry and visualized our stories together. We are currently exploring new ways to keep this work moving forward.

Using Arts-Based Research to practice love and visibility

Preserving Your Precious Memories

This work extends from my dissertation  and builds upon feminist women-of-color scholarship by using love as a rigorous practice that uses solidarity work  as acts of love, trust-building, and imaging new futures (Sandoval, 2000; hooks, 1991).

I shared this work at the 2025 National Women's Association Conference in Puerto Rico. During the conference, I talked about the value of drawing from lived experience, storytelling, and contemplative practices, which allow us to use such moments for creating spaces of belonging.
